Harry Potter--cheap friend

So Harry Potter has all this gold in the vault, right? Why can't he buy a working wand for his friend Ronald Weasley? I'm not talking about a fancy wand, just somethign so the poor kid can do his homework.

Sure, the Weasley's are a proud bunch. But it could be a birthday gift or whatever... we're not talking a Nimbus 2001 or anything, just a good, stock, working wand that doesn't have stupid tape around it.
