Gardening

Okay, we just spent three straight days of garden work. I used to read that "gardening" was an activity that someone could do for exercise and I thought that was silly. Never again will I doubt! What a workout!

We now have over 100 separate plants in the ground: herbs, tomatoes, peppers, some cabbage and lettuce, and summer squash. I'm going to make pepper jelly for the winter!

I've been traveling..

Sorry everyone, I've been traveling on a project! Basically I got a call that said "be in Chicago tonight" and so I went ... it's been good to be back and see some old friends and get some good, solid work done.

I've been staying at a hotel with a kitchen, so I've been able to cook while I'm here and that's been good. They also have a grill outside and last night I grilled up some sweet corn with cilantro butter--it was wonderful!

Ouch ouch oowho I'm sore!

My dad and I spend the afternoon taking down our old deck and got started putting up a new one. I gotta say that I am very, very, very sore and tired.

Ouch.

We made a lot of progress though, by the end of the day tomorrow we'll have all the deck boards down and maybe even the stairs and railing. How about that?

Feeling blank

I haven't written anything recently! It's weird, I've been at a loss for words.

And that's strange for me... I guess I just don't have anything I want to share right now. Is that wrong??

Crazy weather

Hot/cold, cold, hot. Move the plants inside and cover the annuals, it's going to frost. How come it's 80?

How do plants ever grow in Kansas? Heck, I'm sick of the fluctuation in weather already!
